Coffee owes its taste to roasting the bean. Cherico chicory is an organic root, dried then roasted in France in the same spirit. The result: round, lightly caramelised notes, real body in the mouth, and a foam that holds with oat milk. What decaf imitates, chicory has naturally.

It wasn't the same root.
Cherico is 100% organic chicory root, roasted in France, with no additives. Nothing else in the jar.

It was badly dosed.
Too little, and it's coloured water. The right dose: 4g per cup, i.e. one level tablespoon, with water at 90°C. Not 2g, and not boiling water.

It was drunk on its own.
Like black coffee, plain chicory takes some getting used to. With a splash of oat milk, it's a different world. That's why the Oatly Barista carton and the frother are in the kit.
